Open Japan Travel started from a simple realization: for many visitors, Japan can feel both incredibly exciting and unexpectedly difficult to navigate.
As an American who has spent years living and working in Japan, I saw firsthand how much more there is beyond the typical tourist experience. The local neighborhoods, hidden restaurants, seasonal events, and cultural details that aren’t always easy to access from the outside.
